We are a troop of Scouts based in Rathgar which is in Dublin 6, Ireland. We are members of the Scout Association of Ireland and part of the Dublin South district. We meet every Friday night in the Youth Hall, Christ Church Rathgar from 7:15pm until 9:30pm. Usually at our weekly meetings there are lots of fun activities such as relay races, team games and we also learn some Scouting skills. Planning the next hike or camp is also very important at a meeting and ensuring that all members have the necessary skills for a particular activity. We have won the district "Percy Scott" Trophy competition for the last 2 consecutive years. Our troop has a strong emphasis on outdoor activities ranging from Hiking & Camping to Canoeing. For the last three years we have participated at the national competitions for scouting and were ranked 10th last year. The age range of the troop is from 11 - 16yrs old and is evenly mixed. Last year our summer camp was in Dronten, Netherlands at their national jamboree. The previous year was a summer camp held in Ireland and the year previous to that was at Sherwood '98, Nottingham. Current Member List We currently have 27 Scouts divided into five patrols on an "information-chain" basis rather than a peer patrol basis.
We also have 1 senior patrol leader (SPL): Alan.
